Katie Uhran, the creator of She Rocks Fitness Blog, is a runner, yogi, cyclist, strength trainer, and healthy chef, lover of healthy food, wine, cupcakes, and dogs, who works hard, plays hard, and enjoys life to the fullest. Katie is also one of Undiscovered Kitchen’s partners in the Ultimate Fitness Giveaway!

She Rocks Fitness was created in June 2010 out of her passion for sports, outdoor adventures, and living a healthy lifestyle. She Rocks Fitness is all about moderation and balance – from recipes to lifestyle posts and of course, fitness!

Outside of her blog, Katie’s company also specializes in at-home training, boot camps, and on-line training. Her services include unique fitness boot camps such as: Bridal Boot Camps, Mommy Boot Camps and Corporate Boot Camps.

What’s the goal/mission of your blog?

My goal for She Rocks Fitness is for it to become a well known brand. I want to inspire clients, friends, and readers that living a healthy and active lifestyle is possible and fun, without giving up the things that you love. By sharing recipes, workouts, client testimonials, and a glimpse into my personal journey, I like to provide everyone with a well rounded view at my life and that I am real.

Is your blog your full time job? If not, how do you balance your time?

It is not a full time job, but I do spend at least 5 plus hours blogging and doing social media daily. My schedule is always changing, so depending on the day with my clients and teaching classes, I fit in my blogging and social media work whenever I can. It never seems like a job to me, because I truly love blogging.

Any funny/memorable rookie mistakes or lessons learned along the way?

I am always making mistakes and learning from them, because I am not a computer or marketing person. I have degree in Kinesiology, so this is all knew to me. Thankfully I have many great friends who are helpful, knowledgeable, supportive, and have guided me along the way. I have also just been teaching myself too.

How do you keep a healthy mind? How do you keep a healthy body?

I believe that these answers should really be one, because they are both to me the same. To do this I like to focus on healthy eating, yoga, running, cycling, strength training, long walks with Lucy, disconnecting from my phone and computer, and reading excerpts from Melody Beattie’s “Journey to the Heart”.

How do you keep a healthy spirit?

Yoga!

For any or all of the above – what’s your secret to staying motivated?

I like the way I feel inside and out when I live a healthy lifestyle. I love how strong I feel after a good workout. I love how focused, refreshed, and energized I feel when I eat well. This is why I do what I do for me and my clients, because there is no better feeling when you live a healthy and active lifestyle.

What’s your “secret ingredient” or what do you find yourself constantly using in the kitchen and why?

I do not have any secret ingredients, just the usual. The ingredients that I use guaranteed everyday are: Nuttzo, minced garlic, hot sauce, and obviously coffee. HA! Is that considered an ingredient?
